Who we are

Pathmatric helps high-school students estimate their college admission odds and build a balanced college list, using public data and a transparent model. This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it.

Information we collect

  • Account info — your email address (only if you create an account).
  • Academic profile — GPA, course rigor, optional test scores, intended major, and the preferences you enter.
  • Résumé & uploads — the activities/awards text you provide and any files you choose to attach (transcripts, résumés, award images, essays).
  • Admission outcomes — if you choose to report where you were accepted, denied, or waitlisted.
You are never required to upload documents to use the core estimator.

Students under 18

Pathmatric is intended for students aged 16 and older. If you are under 18, please use it with the awareness and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

How we use your information

  • To generate your personalized admission estimates and school matches.
  • To save your profile and college list so you can return to them.
  • To improve our "students like you" estimates — but only in aggregate (see below).

Aggregation & anonymity

Reported outcomes are only ever shown to other students as aggregated statistics, never as an individual record. Our system enforces a minimum cohort size before any peer figure is shown, so no individual student is identifiable.

What we never do

  • We never sell or rent your personal data.
  • We never use student data for third-party advertising.
  • We never make a binding or automated decision about you — every estimate is informational and non-deterministic.
  • We never use race, ethnicity, gender, or any protected attribute in the model.

Your choices

You can view and edit your profile at any time, and request deletion of your account and associated data. To request deletion, contact us at the email below.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active, so your profile and college list are there when you return. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and the personal data associated with it. Aggregated, anonymized statistics (which never identify you) may be retained. Anything you use without an account stays only in your own browser — we never receive it, and you can clear it anytime from your device.

Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, state law may give you rights over your personal data — such as the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to obtain a copy. We honor these requests for all users regardless of state: contact us at the email below and we'll respond within 45 days. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

Security & service providers

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with least-privilege access. We use Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage) and Vercel (hosting) as processors. School statistics come from public-domain U.S. Department of Education data; they are not personal information about you.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do. Questions or requests: pathmatric@gmail.com.

Pathmatric provides planning estimates, not admissions decisions or guarantees. Always verify details directly with each school.
